Japanese designer Akira Minagawa established Mina (known as Mina Perhonen since 2003) in 1995. The elegant, minimalistic aesthetic takes direct inspiration from Minagawa’s thoughts on society and his own poems regarding nature. In 2006, the brand won the Mainichi Fashion Grand Prix Award, and in recent years they have been involved in lifestyle design, such as furniture and tableware, as well as creating eye-catching uniforms for the Aomori Museum of Art and Tokyo Skytree R.

After graduating art college, Makoto Kagoshima worked in interior store display and management before establishing his own atelier in Fukuoka City, where he mainly produces ceramics. He has held solo exhibitions not only in Japan but also in LA, Taipei, and London, and has a growing network of collectors around the world. His activities are not limited to ceramics, but also include the creation of custom murals and participation in international art projects.
