Existing on an alternate plane of reality, there is a world, which would be seemingly uninhabitable upon viewing its surface. But just beneath its volcanic, once lush surface exists an entirely different world, one that has advanced to an elite level. It is inhabited by three races, the noble Yrids, the roguish Furenks, and the power-hungry Servoz.
When the surface was once inhabitable, the Servoz began gaining power through sheer efficiency, wiping out many of the Furenks and Yrids. The fighting eventually caused the destruction of the surface, forcing the races to retreat underground in order to survive, where they thrived.
The Servoz have recently rejuvinated the technically never-ending War of Endless Fury, fighting under the title of "Retributionists," causing the Furenks and Yrids to have to join forces in order to counter the threat. The complex network of tunnels linking the two Furenk and Yrid cities provides excellent spots for guerilla tactics, though the Servoz can easliy drill and dig between them.
