In the 20th century, Alchemy was introduced. Alchemy is much alike the much older Magic. It mostly involves drawing a 'transmutation' circle, and using a certain mass, transform the mass into something else of the same mass. Such as the strange rumor of breaking apart lead, and rebuild it to gold, although that is strictly forbidden. Although in the 20th century, there are some high tech things even we don't have yet, a perfect example is Auto-Mail. If you've lost an arm, or want more power, get a robot arm. Another job is the Military, not relying on alchemy, they use guns like every normal army does. Although they hire State Alchemist, Alchemists that do missions and sometimes join wars, those Alchemists are called state alchemists.
Uses the storyline of the anime as boot to our own unique story. Here is a shortened version of our story:
Edward and Alphonse Elric are strange people. Edward has two robotic limbs called auto-mail, auto-mail can be placed if you want to become stronger, or if you might've lost your arm. Alphonse is one of those 'Ghosts in Knight armor' we sometimes see in cartoons. All of this was result of Human Transmutation, strict taboo. They had the right ingedients for a body, but the price for a soul was too much. It consumed Al's body, and Edward's right arm and left leg, but still did the human transmutation give no success. They head to various cities seraching for the Philosipher's Stone, a stone whom's power would let the limbs, and body, be restored of the alchemist duo.
