    This ski area consisting of eight courses in total is located in Shizukuishi-cho, Iwate County. It holds a skiing school for beginners, and is a slope enjoyed by skiers and snowboarders of all skill levels. In addition, with a hot spring facility just a one-minute walk away, going there to heal your body after skiing is a popular activity.
  • Appi Kogen Ski Resort
    Iwate Pref. Hachimantaishi Appikougen
    This is a popular ski resort that cares about the quality of its slopes and where guests can enjoy “aspirin snow” which is fluffy powder snow with little humidity. There are 21 various runs including long courses that even beginners can enjoy and ungroomed snow courses with a maximum gradient of 32 degrees intended for those more advanced making for a snow resort with something for everyone from families to expert skiers and snowboarders. On site is a ski and snowboard school that offers various lessons to help students improve safely and enjoyably. In addition to its slopes the resort has a complete restaurant and lounge area that groups and families will appreciate.
  • Iwate Kogen Snow Park
    Iwate Pref. Iwategunshizukuishichou Nagayama Iwateyama
    This ski area is located in Shizukuishi-cho, Iwate County. Situated 35 minutes from the Morioka Interchange, it is easily accessible. All courses, which mainly feature straight ones with slight slopes, can be reached from the gondola in the center. In addition, the children’s course makes it a ski area that can be enjoyed by people of all ages. Equipment is also available for rent.
  • Geto Kogen Resort

    This is a ski resort in Kitakami City Iwate Prefecture. The resort has one of the richest snowfalls in the Tohoku region and skiers can enjoy a long season of powder snow. Every year many visitors come to the resort from both within and outside the prefecture. There are a total of 14 unique slopes. For skiers who love powder snow we recommend the non-compacted snow course where the best powder snow can be enjoyed during snowy weather. There is a food court which offers a wide selection such as curry and ramen noodles rental shops and a childcare facility. Also there is a large outdoor natural hot spring bath called the “Usagimori no yu” and it is pleasing to have many facilities in one complex.

    This ski area is located in Shizukuishi-cho, Iwate County. Characterized by its rugged terrain, there are a variety of courses that can be enjoyed by everyone from beginners to advanced skiers. You can also rent equipment necessary to go skiing and snowboarding. In the off-season from April to October, you can enjoy views of the night sky from the Shizukuishi Ginga Ropeway.

    Iwate Pref. Hachimantaishi Matsuoyoriki 1-509-1
    Panorama Ski Area and Shimokura Ski Area are located in Hachimantai Resort in the city of Hachimantai, Iwate Prefecture. The two ski areas are adjacent to each other, and they have a total of 14 runs, with slopes suitable for each level of ability, from beginners to top-level experts, and there are seven lifts. Children's activities are also available, including a Snow Park and snowshoe trekking. These activities are one reason that the ski areas are a popular destination for families.
  • Hachimantai Resort (Shimokura Ski Area)
    Iwate Pref. Hachimantaishi Matsuoyoriki Matsukawa National Forest
    This ski resort is located in Towada-Hachimantai National Park at the foot of Mt. Iwate in northern Iwate Prefecture. It has two ski areas: the Panorama Ski Area and the Shimokura Ski Area. With a difference in elevation of 550 meters and a longest run of 2,700 meters, the Shimokura Area boasts a super high 70% chance of powder conditions and offers specialized powder skiing lessons. The Diamond Course starting from the top of the 3rd pair lift is the best non-compact snow run in the prefecture.
