Omura Park

Event
This park was created over the ruins of Kushima Castle in Omura City, Nagasaki Prefecture, and was selected as one of Japan’s Top 100 Cherry Blossom Spots. There are roughly 2,000 trees cultivated in the park, as well as the Omura-zakura cherries—a nationally-designated Natural Monument, and Kushima-zakura cherries—a prefecturally-designated Natural Monument, which have 60–200 petals per flower. The Yoshino cherry trees bloom in late March, while the Omura-zakura and Kushima-zakura bloom in early April. The trees are lit up at night during peak season, and the Omura Flower Festival is held in early April. Toilets, shops and parking available.
